Yesterday TomTom released the new Australia Map v8.55
I’m downloading it as I type.
If you dont know where to find it by now then you need to look harder.
NoSpot Hack to Remove SpotLight Serach from SpringBoard

Longitude 2.0 release soon!

Longitude 2.0 will be released within the next week, and will feature a completely new interface with Latitude friends support. Imagine Google’s Latitude webapp, enhanced, and native – so much much faster. 2.0 will also feature the ability to use the iPhone’s significant location update API, combined with some time-related settings, so you can update only when you move, which greatly enhances battery life!
Longitude 2.0 will be a free upgrade for users who purchased Longitude since the release of iOS 4 (June 21, 2010), and a $0.99 upgrade for all other existing users.
Longitude 1.6

A few moments ago Longitude 1.6 was submitted to Rock and Cydia.
Version 2.0 will be hopefully available next week
Longitude is an App developed by Technivations, designed to work along side Google Latitude, that provides a more logical way of using Google Latitude. Longitude provides the ability to automatically update Google Latitude with your iPhone’s location on a set interval. The program runs in the background, so as usual, this app is only available to Jailbroken users.
Version 1.6 fixes iOS4 compatibility, plus fixes an old bug where the iPhone would power on to perform an update even if completely powered off.
Personally I think this app is 100 times better the Latitudie and PlaceTrack.
MyWi 4.0 No Rock

After updating my iPhone to iOS4 I have lost the ability to tether with the iPad as MyWi was not supported with iOS4
Until today.. MyWi was updated to version 4.0
I have 2 complaints.
1. The cost for $20 is ridiculous
2. You have to install Rock on your phone to be able to use it.
I’m hoping they will release a No Rock version as well as a cracked version soon.

Well after reading about the WordPress 3.0 Update on Gizmodo, I thought i’d try the Auto-Update feature that was built in to wordpress a little while ago. I must say “Piece of Cake” compared to how it used to be done.
I also went hunting for a new theme. Still working on customising it.. so if something does not work then I’ll fix it sometime.
Also upgraded the computer at home that this is running from.
And am currently upgrading my iPhone to Version 4
So there is lots of upgrading at the moment.
Anyway there is some other news i will share soon to do with upgrading…..
iPad Charging from the PC

Since I got my iPad every time I plugged it in to my Laptop or PC here are work it shows “Not Charging”
There is a fix for that!
At Work I have a HP/Compaq Elite 8000 SFF Desktop and I also use my laptop which is a HP/Comapq 2210b
All that is needed to do is install Ai Charger software from ASUS. I have tested it and it works on both my PC and Laptop here at work.
I have also tested it on a variety of Acer Laptops and it works on them too.

The eBay iPad App for Australia

Currently you can only get the eBay iPad app from the US App Store.
Problem is it is designed to be used with the US eBay site.
after a little tinkering I have been able to Localize it for the eBay Australia site. One thing that is not working yet is the Deals of the day that show up when you have the iPad in Portrait mode, Still working on this one.
If you would like to change your ebay app until they decide to bring it out here replace the sites.plist on your iPad with the one you can download here
Another Apple

Coming to you from my iPad. I thought I would mention I got one. I’m using the wordpress app to do this.
it is very had to get some work done with one of these. As usual it had to be jail broken and this was done using Spirit. Took all of about 10 seconds.
Another great thing is I can tether it with my iPhone using MyWi. Basically it turns your iPhone in to a wireless hotspot, which you can then access using the iPad.
All that is left now is to get a MacBook pro. Which will most likely be at the end of the year. And I will have the complete set.
A Random Post

Well, It has been over 4 months since the last blog entry.
I realy have had not much time to do this and I still don’t, The Boys are in bed at the moment and have a little bit of time before I clean the house.
Since the last time I made an entry, We spent christmas at Ballarat with the inlaws, have been to Vanuatu for a week. Started a new job as IT Manager at St Pauls Anglican Grammar in Warragul, and are about to go on another short break over easter to Corryong.
Also TomTom have updated there maps twice. And I have not been sued by anyone yet.
So there you have it, not alot happening…
Before I go, work now pays for my internet connection now so I was able to get a static IP so there will be no more down time.
